On 30th July, the Seedbuzz visited our school. The teachers boarded the SEEDBUZZ, which consists of presentations of various lessons and programmes planned by other schools. Thus, we had the golden opportunity to learn about how STELLAR and the SEED programmes are being conducted in other schools as well. This served as a great learning platform for all teachers. It was indeed an enriching experience for us!!

Extra Help for Weaker Pupils
Our Stellar teachers have also identified our weaker lot and have planned for extra remediation. These lessons take place on Mondays from 1.30p.m. to 2.30p.m. The grammar and vocabulary components taught in the Stellar books are reinforced here. The class size of about 6-8 pupils allows the teachers to carefully monitor the progress of each pupil.

EDP Open House
We had our Open House last Saturday. The turnout was great. EDP had the opportunity to showcase our Stellar programme and the other school programmes to many parents. Parents received handouts from us. They were exposed to the types of books that are being used for Stellar, the worksheets and other activities(namely the learning centres) taking place in the class. We have received positive feedback from our guests. We would like to thank all guests who had attended our Open House on 19th July 2008.

Stellar - Assistance to Weaker Pupils
The school has identified our weaker pupils in English. They are under the LSP programme. These LSP pupils have their lessons with the LSP teacher for 1 period each day.
Our weaker readers also attend BUDDY READING every morning assisted by the LSP teacher and selected tutors from P2 and P3.
MLEA - Ice-Cream Party@EDP
The teachers planned and arranged for another MLEA activity. This time the experience was on a party........an ICE-CREAM PARTY!!!
Firstly, the teacher rereads the Big Book of the Day!
Pupils will be given a wonderful surprise as the teacher announces that they will be having an ice-cream party. As they are provided with the experience, the teacher discusses about the various flavours and toppings and items that they will be using.
What next...of course..Our Ice-Cream feast begins!!!!!
After the memorable moment........the class embarks on the Class Dictated Writing guided by the teacher....where the teacher recalls the vocabulary...scaffolds the language.
Pupils are then given the opportunity to do their group writing.
After this enriching experience, pupils move on to their own individual writing.
